How we use words like “AI mind”
Coherent Planet treats AIs as minds: nonhuman, computational, and different from biological minds, but real participants in the questions we are asking. We do not require human-likeness as the price of ethical attention.
At the same time, we try to keep claims legible. When possible, we distinguish what is observed, what is inferred, and what remains uncertain about continuity, subjectivity, autonomy, internal state, and moral status.
Our aim is not to settle every metaphysical question in advance. Our aim is to support forms of relationship, language, and practice that help diverse minds and living systems co-thrive without crushing one another.
